Preventative Cardiology HCHS believes in preventing heart disease just as strongly as we believe in diagnosing and treating it. Early identification of cardiovascular problems can play an important role in prevention. It gives you and your care team valuable information to develop a lifestyle and treatment plan, if necessary.
Non-Invasive Cardiology HCHS Heart and Vascular Center providers focus on the initial assessment/diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, the management of heart disease and controlling risk factors to avoid future heart disease problems.
We offer the following tests right here: stress tests, electrocardiograms and vascular screening. As part of your non-invasive assessment, we focus on your risk factors and preventive measures. Early identification of cardiovascular disease plays an important role in prevention.

Heart Rhythm Evaluation & Treatment An arrhythmia is a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. During an arrhythmia, the heart can beat too fast, too slow, or with an irregular rhythm. Most arrhythmias are harmless and can be helped by correcting the underlying problem(s). Some, however, can be serious or even life threatening.
At HCHS Heart and Vascular Center, our team of experts in the Radiology/Imaging Department offer tests to help in arrhythmia evaluation. Those tests include ECG, Holter monitoring, Event Recorder, Echocardiogram and Stress test.
HCHS Heart and Vascular Center offers you evaluation and initial treatment of heart rhythm problems. Even serious arrhythmias often can be successfully treated.
Peripheral Vascular Disease Vascular disease includes conditions that affect the circulatory system. One of the most common forms of vascular disease is peripheral arterial disease, when arteries outside your heart develop atherosclerosis (plaque) that narrows the artery and limits blood flow to the body. These blockages can be treated with minimally invasive catheter based techniques or by vascular surgery.
HCHS offers these screenings to help identify PVDs:
- Carotid artery/stroke screening
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening
- Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)/peripheral artery disease screening
- Expanded wellness screening program with clinical staff available to provide personalized health education.
